Day 8

Technical issues with my phone prevented regular Insta updates and also. A used Strava tracking to stop at La Rochelle. We actually finished the day further on with an estimate 100k travelled.

Our overnight stay in the TIPI was amazing and the lovely Helen gave us a home cooked breakfast as well. We then felt extra special when she gave us a handmade banana cake to take with us.

Some very long tracks were taken today and we went 3 hours without passing a town but we did eventually make it to the very lovely La Rochelle for lunch/dinner and a quick walk around the Bastille.

Our accommodation tonight is a replica from the motel in ‘from dusk til dawn’ with bathrooms taken from the cabins of a 1970’s cross channel ferry. Lovely!
