Day Seven – New Lanark to Carlisle

England, My England

77 miles today. The trip total is now 420 and we have spent 39 hours riding.

Today we said goodbye to bonnie Scotland. We've experienced some magnificent scenery as we cycled through the Great Glen and around Ben Nevis. We've also had the pleasure of some monster climbs and killer head winds.

As we passed between Scotland and England we entered the eurozone. Aaron was concerned that we didn't have any euros to pay for our farewell whiskey.

We tried to visit Scotlands first and last house .... but it was closed for a re-furb because they spelt Scotland with only one 't'.

Note to Scottish Parliament

1 - consider adding a 't' to Scotland to comply with fifa regulations

2 - erect a statue to "King Kenny" Dalglish. (with two n's)

Injury update

Aaron no longer has a bad knee, he has two

Rich is having sympathy stabbing pains in his left knee.

But we are most worried about Chuck. Today he went into a pub and only had a soft drink!

Chaffing update (sponsored by Sudacreme)

Redness working its way down the thighs, a warm front moving in from all directions.

Editors note

The Scottish Eastenders seems to have the same characters as the English version why? Please blog your suggestions

Tip of the day

Before asking what the pub used to be used for, consider checking the pubs name.   This tip is particularly useful when eating at the "Old Stables" Chuck.
