Due to Chucks visionary approach in preparation for the event, eg no actual riding of his new bike. We had to perform some emergency maintenance in the middle of a Strirlingshire field. From starting with a slight rubbing noise, and following some slight adjustments, the bike was rendered inoperable.

Having limped to a pub called the Boat House, we met a champion bloke called

Eddie who runs Outdoor Trax (www.outdoortrax.co.UK) and coaches the

Cumbernauld under 14's football team. He spent an hour undoing the previous "fix" for free in support of the charities.

Note to Fabio

If you get a puncture on the way to south Africa....... go see Eddie.

Editors note

If.you hear noise on your bike, it's because you didn't prepare properly! but don't let

Forbes try and fix it anyway

Captain safety

After lecturing us on road safety for many hours, captain safety (who will remain

nameless) decided to take a phone call from his wife (Lynne) while doing 21.5 mph on the A73.
