Day 5 - Nantes to Pornic

Was difficult to get out of bed this morning. After some reflection we pieced together the main cause. As we hit the outskirts of Nantes and ticked over to 100km for the day we decided to do a supply run at the SuperU. Chucks assured us that it was a simple 5 min down hill run to the hotel so no worries.

We left Chuck to buy the essentials we needed and sat down to rest the legs. 45 mins later he came back to us with 2 bottles of red, a litre of cider, a bottle of shampoo (yes you’ve probably seen his head!), a bottle of ‘sooooo sexy’ deodorant and a bottle of lemon chello. The local shoppers looked in amazement as we somehow managed to get all of this into out panniers and pockets . The sensible blog viewer has probably already worked out that most of the liquid was in glass bottles.

The ‘5 min run into the hotel took us 45 mins of up and down. Chuck said you are welcome and made sure that the aforementioned items didn’t need to be carried on the following day.

It was a bit of a transition day as moved from canals, to suburbs, to forests and then to the Atlantic coast. spotting birds of prey and nesting herons kept us entertained.

We finally arrived in Pornic and after another supply run to LIDL, we made it to our AirBnB room for three people. We were very pleasantly surprised to find we have full run of a 7 bed house and garden with our own pet sheep!!

Overall a good day but Chaffing Update will need to make a return!!
